Eight

Day 8:

Meidän tehtävä oli olla aamulla yhdeksältä Ricco's Caffeessa tapaamassa paikallisia hopeaseppiä ja muita taiteilijoita, kun Mari oli muilla asioilla. Oli ihan hauskaa, koska saavuttiin paikalle 20 minuuttia myöhässä, eikä kukaan niistä tuntenut meitä. Käveltiin siis 50 min ihan turhaan periaatteessa. Ricco'sissa ne unohti vielä tehdä mun tilaaman smoothien ja, kun vihdoin sain sen niin se oli väärä :(

Soiteltiin siinä sitten Marille, jonka menot vähä veny ja tavattiin se sitten toisessa kahvilassa Baressossa. Päivä parani heti, kun söpö nuorimies teki vanilla latet ja heitti vielä sydämet vaahtoon.

// Our job was to be at Ricco's Caffe 9am to meet silversmiths and other artists, when Mari was doing other stuff. It was actually quite funny, since we arrived 20 minutes late and nobody knew who we were. We had walked for 50 minutes for nothing. At Ricco's we ordered smoothies and they forgot to make mine! When I finally got mine, it was the wrong kind of smoothie. I was so disappointed.

We called Mari when she was over an hour late and we met her at Baresso. My day got so much better when a cute young man made me vanilla latte and made a heart with the foam.




Baressosta kun lähdettiin alkoi varsinaisesti meidän asioiden hoitaminen. Käytiin nahkakaupassa, missä oli vaikka minkälaista nahkaa ja kaikenlaisia turkkeja! Siellä oli myös kaikkee, mitä saattaa tarvita jos esim menee laukku rikki tms. Sitten käytiin kaikenlaisissa askartelukaupoissa hakemassa nauhoja. Tigerissä käytiin hakemassa krääsää, jota ehdottomasti tarvitaan pariin projektiin, mitä nyt on tässä jotenkin ajankohtaisena. Kauheesti vaan kierrettiin kaikkia kauppoja ihan huvinkin vuoksi tarkistamassa vähän valikoimaa. Lounaaksi syötiin Green Sushista haetut annokset, jotka nautittiin puistossa. Käveltiin siitä katsomaan paikallisia solttupoikia, eli siis kuninkaallista henkivartiostoa, jotka majailee siinä puiston vieressä.

//When we left Baresso started the actual "running around and taking care of stuff" part of the day. First we went to leather store, which had all kinds of leather and fur in the colors! They also had all kinds of stuff you might need if your bag falls apart etc. From Tiger we got everything we're gonna need for couple other projects. We checked a lot of shops just to see if there's something we could need at some point. For lunch we got sushi from Green Sushi. We went to eat our lunch to this park nearby, since eating in the restaurant would cost extra. When we where done we walked around the park and saw local soldiers.



Kierrettiin parhaita korupajoja ja -kauppoja ja tavattiin paljon Marin tuttuja, jotka on alalla. Kaikki oli todella mukavia ja taitavia! Parasta oli ehkä galleria Montan, jossa oli aivan upeita kaikkia hopeasta ja kullasta tehtyjä vaaseja ja kulhoja ja sellaisia ihania käyttöesineitä, joille on hienompiakin nimiä. Lasse Montan itse esitteli meille tärkeimpiä/hienoimpia niistä ja saatiin räplätä kaikkia näytillä olevia ihania esineitä. Omasta mielestäni vaikuttavimpia töitä oli islantilaisen Pètur Tryggvin  työt, jotka on tehty vasaralla yhdestä levystä ja jotka oli kooltaan valtavia; isoin mikä oli esillä painoi 19kg, yläreuna oli 60cm ja kanta 6cm.

// We got to see the best jewel stores and met lots of Mari's friends who are also silversmiths. They all were really nice and talented! I think the best part might have been gallery Montan, which had all kinds of vases and bowls made from gold and silver. Lasse Montan himself told us about the artists and the pieces, and we got to hold the super amazing stuff. I found the pieces from Pètur Tryggvi (Iceland) to be the most impressive. They were made out of a single piece of silver and hammered to the shape they were in. The pieces were also huge; the biggest we saw weights 19kg, the top was 60cm wide and the bottom was only 6cm wide)



Kuuden tunnin kävelyn jälkeen oli onnellinen, että olin valinnut lenkkarit jalkaani. Pysähdyttiin vielä kahvilaan, ennen kotiin menoa. Kotona poikettiin vain pikaisesti tuomassa ylimääräiset tavarat ja pakkaamassa eri tavarat mukaan maalle lähtöä varten. Hieman ennen iltakahdeksaa oltiin perillä ja ilta oli aika hurja; syötiin ja mentiin nukkumaan. Eikä tarvinnut edes herätyskelloa laittaa soimaan tätä päivää varten. Luksusta. :)

// After six hours of walking I was so happy about the fact I had running shoes. We stopped at one more coffee shop before we walked home. At home we just quickly unpacked everything we didn't need and packed some stuff we would need at the country house. Little before 8 pm we arrived to the country house and the rest of the night was wild; dinner and sleep. And we didn't need to set the alarm for the next day. Luxury!
