Days 5 and 6

Day 5

Heräiltiin aika rauhassa eilen ja tarkotus oli lähteä kymmenen jälkeen matkaan. Mari hieman kierrätti meitä ja näytti lähimmän automaatin ja apteekin. Tuli hieman kierreltyä asunnon ympärillä olevilla kaduilla ja tuli vastaan vähän kulttuurieroja, ei ihan Suomessa kaupungissa nähdä pikkupuistossa vuohia, pupuja ja kanoja. Kun vähän oltiin saatu tuntumaa kaduista oli tarkoitus ajaa Marin pajalle. Auto vaan ei tahtonut startata. Eipä siinä mitään, käveltiin sitten töihin ja nähtiin samalla reitti mitä tullaan tulevaisuudessa köpöttelemään.
// We woke up pretty late and the idea was to get going after ten. At first Mari showed us where we can find the closest ATM and the pharmacy. We walked the streets around the apartment and noticed some cultural differences, it's not like you can go see goats, bunnies and chickens in the garden few blocks over in Finland. After we had a pretty good idea of the area we we're supposed to drive to Mari's workshop. But the car refused to start. Well, we just walked to work and saw the route which we're going to be walking in the future.

Työt aloiteltiin hissuksiin kahvien jälkeen jotka tehtiin Marin uudella koneella. Päästiin tekemään hieman tutumpia hommia, nimittäin sahaamista ja viilausta. Itse työpäivä meni aika hurjan nopeati ja lähdimme aika myöhään. Mari oli aikaisemmin suunnitellut, että menisimme sciense and cocktails tapahtumaan Christianiassa. Matkustimme Cristianhavniin bussilla ja metrolla (ekaa kertaa täällä jee), vaikka ei se vieläkään auennut että miten lippujen hankkiminen oikein toimii. Oli kyllä kuin ihan eri maailmaan olisi päässyt vain yhden holvikaaren läpi Christianshavnista Christianiin mentäessä. Alueella on kolme sääntöä; älä ota valokuvia, älä juokse ja pidä hauskaa. Kävelimme green light disrictin läpi ja löysimme ruokapaikan alueen keskustasta. Söimme kaikki aivan mahtavat lohi-ateriat ja odotimme tapahtuman alkua. Saattoi olla että joimme yhden valkoviinipullon tässä kohtia.
//We slowly started working after some coffee from Mari's new coffee machine. We got to do something a bit more familiar jobs like sawing and filing. The workday itself just flew past and we relatively late. Mari had planned for us to go to this thing called science and cocktails in Christiania. We traveled to Christianhavn on a bus and metro (for the first time over here yay), but I still don't really get how the tickets work. It was like there was a totally different world just behind an arch going to Christiania from Christianshavn. There are three rules in the area; Don't take pictures, don't run and have fun. We walked trough the green light district and found a place to eat in the center of the area. We had great salmon dishes and waited for the event to start. We might have drank a bottle of white wine.

Tapahtuma pidettiin elokuvateatteissa (tai ainakin luulen, että paikka oli teatteri...). Paikka oli niin tännä, että istumapaikkoja ei enää löytynyt tuoleilta, mutta Mari löysi aika hyvän paikan korokkeelta jossa sitten istuimme kylki kyljessä. Tiskillä myytiin todella erikoisia drinkkejä, joista saattoivat savuta. Tottakai Jennin oli pakko kokeilla sellaista. Oli todella mielenkiintoinen kokemus istua pienessä hallissa täynnä ihmisiä joilla on drinkit kädessä ja kuuntelevat keskittyneesti antropologia, joka kertoo löydöistään ihmiskunnan historiasta. Paikan tunnelma oli ainutlaatuinen. En kylläkään muisa puoliakaan pitä se antropologi siellä puheli, mutta hauskaa ainakin oli.
//The event was held at a cinema (at least I think it was a cinema...). It was packed with so many people we couldn't find any seats anymore, but found a pretty good spot at the edge of the platform where we sat side by side. They were selling these really weird drinks that had smoke coming out of them. Of course Jenni had to try one. It was a really interesting experience to be in this small hall full of people with drinks in their hands listening intently to an anthropologist explaining his findings of the history of human kind. The atmosphere was one of a kind. I can't remember half of the things the anthropologist was talking about, but at least I had fun.  

Day 6

Tänään oli tarkoitus olla pajalla yhdeksän aikoihin ja päästä sinne omin avuin. Päästiin perille kyllä ihan hyvin, vaikka jos mun ohjeitani oltaisiin seurattu, olisimme eksyneet ainakin kymmeneen kertaan. Onneksi Jenni kuitenki piti kurssin oikana ja päästin perille. (Ja vain vartin myöhässä!) Työpäivä alkoi taas hissuksiin teetä juodessa ja tavattiinkin pajassa välillä työskenteleviä ihmisiä (en kyllä muistillani nimiä enää muista...) Oli aika helppo työpäivä vaikka sainkin jo reissun ekan laastarin. Käytiin kaupassa ensimmäistä kertaa ja kokkasin meille chili con carnea. Oli vähän haastavaa koittaa löytää kaikki tarvittava kaupasta kun ei yhtään tekstiä ymmärtänyt, mutta kyllä kaikki löytyi. Kaiken kaikkiaan tänään ei ole ollut mitenkään tapahtuarikas päivä.

Today we were meant to be at the work shop at 9am and get there on our own. We got there alright, though if we would've walked with my route would've been lost like ten times. But thankfully Jenni set the right course and we got there alright. (Only fifteen minutes late!) The workday started with some tea and we met some other people who work there sometimes as well (but I suck with names so...). It was a pretty easy workday, and I got the first bandage of the trip. We had our first shopping experience and I cooked us some chili con carne. It was a bit difficult trying to find everything you need when you don't understand the language at all. All and all it hasn't been a very eventful day.
